Flaw in fuel pump found in BAIC SUV

BAIC Motors announced it will recall 2,090 units of its BJ 40 sport utility vehicle.

The SUVs were manufactured between Dec 28, 2013, and May 13, 2014. A flawed fuel pump that eventually becomes corroded is the main reason for the recall.

The BJ 40 is the first SUV model made by BAIC and hit the market in December 2013. During the first half of the year, 10,900 units were sold, up 121.63 percent year-on-year.
