BEIJING - Porsche China will recall 28 of its 918 Spyder model vehicles on the Chinese mainland due to faulty components on the front axles, the national quality watchdog announced Saturday.
Recalled cars were made from Feb 25 to Sept 22 of 2014, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement posted on its website.
Due to manufacturing errors, the functionality of the lower control arms from a certain delivery batch on the front axles can not be permanently guaranteed, according to the statement.
Porsche said it will replace the defective components for free so as to eliminate safety hazards, and for safety concerns it suggests customers stop using their cars before the replacement.
The recall process is scheduled to start on March 16 this year.
