Electric vehicle Denza from Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology Co made its market launch in Shenzhen recently along with the inauguration of its first dealership.
With retail prices from 369,000 yuan to 399,000 yuan, the pure electric model is eligible for a subsidy of 57,000 yuan from the central government and purchase tax exemption of 21,000 yuan from the Shenzhen government.
Equipped with an 86 kW engine, it has a maximum speed of 150 km/h and peak torque of 290 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
With its 47.5 kWh battery capacity, the vehicle can drive up to 300 km on a full charge that takes between one to five hours depending on charging facilities.
The first electric model to achieve a Five-Star crash test result by C-NCAP, the Denza was tested for 18 months over more than 1.2 million km.
"The success of Denza demonstrates the leadership of the electric car joint venture between BYD and Daimler, and the strong commitment for developing green transportation in China from both sides," said Wang Chuanfu, founder and chairman of BYD.
