The new Audi Q3 crossover may make its official Chinese market debut next month, xcar.com.cn reported Monday. The imported Q3 is expected to be priced above the domestically manufactured Q5, with estimates ranging between 400,000 and 450,000 yuan ($63,366-$71,287). Domestic production of the Q3 is anticipated to be a part of its future Chinese plans.
Built on Volkswagen Group's PQ35 platform, the Q3 is ranked below the Q5 in Audi's product lineup. The crossover, which is currently Audi's smallest SUV, measures 4.39 m long, 1.83 m wide and 1.6 m tall.
The overseas Q3 comes with three different inline-four engine configurations: two turbocharged gasoline options and a turbodiesel configuration. The premium 2.0 L turbocharged gasoline engine variation, which is expected to be the one imported to China, boasts a maximum output of 211 hp. Among its several other features, the Q3 comes with one button start/stop technology and a hydraulic regenerative braking system.
