China registers April service trade deficit

BEIJING - China registered a deficit of $8.9 billion in its international trade in services in April.

The nation's total revenues from service trade in April stood at $20.2 billion, while expenditure hit $29.1 billion, according to data released on Friday by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.

China reported a deficit of $41.7 billion in international service trade in the first four months of 2014, said the administration.

Trade in services includes areas such as transport, travel, telecommunications, finance and construction.
