BEIJING -- Shanghai's foreign direct investment expanded 10.5 percent from a year earlier to $1.8 billion in September, according to the Shanghai Statistics Bureau.
The growth accelerated from the increase of 8 percent in August and was much faster than the national average gain of 4.88 percent. Shanghai will continue to be a magnet for foreign investment with the pilot free trade zone in the Pudong New Area, analysts said.
