Edgar Lau, a driver from Hong Kong, won bronze in a race at the Pan Delta Super Racing Festival held in Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong province, on June 19. Lau, 25, traversed a special path on the way to becoming a racer.

Enchanted by the sound of roaring engines, Lau wished to become a racing driver at the age of four. He worked as a volunteer, cleaning the road or navigating the traffic at a racetrack when he studied engineering in the United States in 2011.

Thanks to his diligence, he was spotted by a team which offered to sponsor him to learn car racing and gain a racing license. Lau showed his talent and improved his skills rapidly.

In 2014, he defeated more than 100,000 competitors in a racing electronic game, winning a ticket to a field contest in the United Kingdom. During the contest, he was headhunted by a racing team and has since started his journey as a professional racer.

Unlike his swift racing style on track, Lau was shy and quiet off the track. "Don't know how I won it" – this is what he always said. Looking forward, he wished to keep up his pursuit of speed and his dream through strenuous efforts.
