WARSAW - Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski on Friday said Chinese investments were important for Polish exports and local communities, after a visit to the Rolling Bearings Factory in Krasnik, eastern Poland.
A total of 89.15 percent of shares of the factory were purchased by the Chinese Tri-Ring Group Corp in 2013.
"I am pleased to see that Chinese capital put into Polish plants and factories, like the factory in Krasnik, (it) means further investments in their modernization and increase of Polish exports," Komorowski said.
"Investment is important for local communities because it creates more job opportunities. So it is worth to continue these efforts, seeing the positive examples in Polish-Chinese cooperation and positive examples of foreign investments in Poland," he added.
The president said bilateral cooperation had increased since his visit to China in 2011 and the signing of a strategic partnership agreement.
The Rolling Bearings Factory in Krasnik is one of the biggest European producers of bearings. With about 2,000 employees, it is one of major employers in the region. Founded in 1938, it is situated nearby the eastern border of the EU.
