As annual online shopping festival "Double 11" or "Single's Day", an equivalent of "Cyber Monday" approaches, online shoppers in China are getting ready to go on a spree.
However, there are some things different about the "Single's Day in 2014".
Traffic control to delay deliveries
This year's "Double 11" coincides with Beijing's implementation of stricter traffic control for two weeks. In order to reduce severe smog, Beijing utilized "even" and "odd" license plate traffic control measure. Furthermore, motorized tricycles, which are the primary transportation used by courier companies, are banned within the 6th ring road.
