More than 2,500 enterprises will display their products, with the aim of finding new partners and expanding business, Weng said.
China saw a slight increase in its export of bulk drugs in the first four months of this year, with 2.29 million tons sold to overseas markets, a rise of 4.2 percent compared with the same period last year.
Most crude drugs were sold to markets in Asia, Europe and North America, said Rong Di, an official with the China Chamber of Commerce of Medicines & Health Products Importers & Exporters.
"The growth rate of this year's exports in bulk drugs is expected to reach five to eight percent," Rong said.
Weng said that organizers expect that many small and medium-sized enterprises will exhibit at the show, in addition to giant producers of crude drugs.
The management committee has also organized more than 100 forums and meetings to discuss the development of the pharmaceutical industry and provide more information.
