BEIJING - China will improve its policies to foster and support leading enterprises in the agriculture sector in a bid to spur industrialization in the area, according to a document recently released by the State Council, China's Cabinet.
The document, published on the Chinese government's official website (www.gov.cn), said China will push forward the construction of standardized production bases and use the clustering effect to promote development in the sector.
Noting that leading enterprises are key to a modern and industrialized agricultural system, the document said China will direct more funds to build infrastructure for the bases.
The document also urged the enterprises to work out better monitoring and tracking systems to enhance product quality.
To gain a competitive edge in the market, the enterprises should boost technological input and strengthen cooperations with institutes and universities to set up research and development divisions, the document said.
