Wengding Wa Village, the last tribe of China

Lush trees surround Wengding Wa village – the 400-year residence of the Wa ethnic group – on May 25, 2011. The community is nestled in the mountains 33km from Cangyuan county, Lincang city in Southwest China's Yunnan province. The group has been called "the last tribe of China". It has preserved the typical style of Wa residential architecture, the most primitive folk customs and the most ecological culture. This group is one of the best-preserved ancient communities in China today. [Photo/chinadaily.com.cn]
