Long wheel-base E-Class
This model exemplifies the automaker's localization strategy, which Walker explains is crucial to Mercedes-Benz's successful presence here in China.
"At Mercedes-Benz, we know that our global success is built on understanding local demand, and thus, we believe that constantly adapting to and advancing with the China market, the culture, and the expectations of customers are vital to achieving success," said Walker. "Specifically, a most fundamental aspect of this strategy is tailoring products to best fit local needs."
As such, the Long-wheel-base E-Class has been specifically adjusted and enhanced to meet those very discerning needs of Chinese customers. For instance, with a length of 5,012 millimeters and wheelbase of 3,014 millimeters, the new model allows passengers to enjoy an extra 140 millimeters of legroom compared with the saloon model sold in the rest of the world.
Additionally, enhanced safety equipment, eco-friendly technology, vehicle configurations and suspension systems have all been modified to satisfy the discerning needs of Chinese customers.
