The Inter IKEA Center Group (IICG) on Tuesday unveiled  two "Super Regional Shopping Center" projects located respectively in Daxing District in Beijing and Wuxi in eastern Jiangsu province.

In the shopping centers, IKEA stores will be one of its main attractions, which, together with tenants in fashion, food, home electronics and entertainment, will create a strong and unique shopping center concept, said Ding Hui, managing director of Inter IKEA Center China.

"We aim to create a dynamic retail environment, to work closely with our retailers to attract more visitors and offer a commercially attractive, family friendly, convenient and safe shopping experience," Ding said.

The Daxing project, due to open in 2014, boasts a business area of 200,000 sq m including the second IKEA store in Beijing and a parking lot that can serve 7,000 cars. It will be accessed by light rails and buses.

The project in Wuxi is due to open in 2013 with a slightly smaller business area of 140,000 square meters and a parking lot that can serve 6,000 cars. It will also be accessed by light rails and buses.

IICG was established in 2001, with its headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.
