5. Buick Excelle XT

New models debuting at Guangzhou auto show

The five-door coupe-like Buick Excelle XT is making its global premiere at the Guangzhou auto show. The front-wheel-drive compact, set to be made at General Motors' tie-up with SAIC Motor, will go on sale in 2010. It has three engine options: 1.6 liters D-VVT, 1.6 liters turbo and 1.8 liters D-VVT. The 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine delivers 135 kW of power output and 235 Nm of torque. A five-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed automatic transmission are available for the Buick Excelle XT. The model is 4,419 long, 1,814 wide and 1,487 mm high. Its wheelbase is 2,685 mm long.

6. Toyota's new Prius

New models debuting at Guangzhou auto show

The new Prius, Toyota's best-selling hybrid-powered model, is making its China premiere at the Guangzhou auto show. It will be produced at the Japanese carmaker's FAW joint venture from next year. The model combines a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor. The gasoline engine's maximum power and torque are 73Kw/5,200rpm and 142Nm/4,000rpm. The electric motor, with its nickel-metal hybrid cells, produces a maximum power of 60kW and boasts 207Nm of top torque. The model is 4,450 mm long, 1,725 mm wide and 1,510 mm high.
