New models debuting at Guangzhou auto show

The Volvo C30 DRIVe makes its Asian debut at the Guangzhou auto show. The model is equipped with a 1.6-liter diesel engine, which is capable of a maximum power of 109 horsepower and boasts a top torque of 240Nm. It is available with an advanced start/stop function that switches off the engine when the car is at a standstill, when at traffic lights or in a traffic queue for example. This cuts fuel consumption to as little as 3.8 liters per 100 km, while carbon dioxide emissions are just 99 grams of CO2 per km, the lowest in its class. The facelift to the C30 is more comprehensive than is usually the case with Volvo's models. The entire front has been redesigned, including its body panels and front wings. This gives the car a radical new appearance from the front, giving it a distinctive new personality.

Infiniti, the luxury brand owned by Nissan Motor Co, is debuting its new Essence model in Asia at the Guangzhou auto show. The model is equipped with Infiniti's familiar 3.7-liter V6 direct-injection gasoline engine, which is fitted with twin turbochargers, boosting its power to 440 PS. The Essence also comes with a new type of electric motor, the 3D Motor, designed to meet tough requirements on size and power output. The electric motor provides 160 PS. Combining the gasoline engine and the electric motor, the Essence only consumes 8 liters of gasoline per 100 km. Its CO2 emission is only 190 grams per 100 km. The model is 4,720 mm long and 1,960 mm wide. It has a 2,800-mm wheelbase.
