The first model under Geely's newly created brand, the Emgrand, sells for 82,800 to 111,800 yuan according to different options.

Equipped with Geely's self-developed 1.8-liter, four-cylinder GETEC CVVT engine and five-speed manual gearbox, the European-designed sedan produces maximum power of 102kW/6,000rpm and offers top torque of 172Nm/4,200rpm.

Model has a top speed of 185 km per hour. Its comprehensive gasoline consumption stands at 6.5 liters per l00 km. It meets the Euro IV emission standard.

Geely will build 80 authorized dealerships domestically for the Emgrand EC718 by the end of this year. The company said the model will help it foray into the European market in the near future. The sedan's length, width and height are 4,635 mm, 1,789 mm and 1,470 mm respectively. Its wheelbase is 2,650 mm.

  

Honda Spirior

The mid-sized sporty sedan, launched by Sino-Japanese joint venture Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co at the beginning of this month, retails between 237,800 and 271,800 yuan.

The Spirior is equipped with a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder i-VTEC engine that generates maximum power of 133kW/6,500rpm.

With a five-speed sequential sport shift transmission, the model offers peak torque of 225Nm/4,300rpm. The Spirior has a top speed of 212 km per hour and accelerates from zero to 100 km per hour in 10.8 seconds. It consumes 8.9 liters of gasoline and meets the National IV emission standard.

The Spirior is 4,730 mm long, 1,840 mm wide and 1,450 mm high. It has a 2,705-mm wheelbase. Dongfeng Honda aims to sell 15,000 units of the model this year and expects that it will be able to compete with the Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series.
