Russian ballet stars to perform in Beijing this weekend

Dancers from three noted Russian ballet troupes will bring the most authentic performance of classic ballet over this weekend. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

Since early November, a series of ballet performances by top troupes from China and abroad lighted up Beijing stage in succession during the 2nd China International Ballet Season. Over this weekend, top ballet stars from the three noted Russian ballet troupes will set off a climax with their performance in Tianqiao Theater in Xuanwu district.

Invited by the sponsors of the ballet season, 90 dancers, including 10 principal dancers, from Bolshoi Theater of Russia, Mariinsky Ballet and Moscow Classical Ballet will cooperate and treat Beijing audiences with pieces from classic works such as Paquita, Spartacus and Madame Bovary.
