Hear the words "Beijing hutong", and Nanluoguxiang is likely to be the first one you'll think of.
But there's another one – Wudaoying Hutong – located right next to the historic Yonghegong Lama Temple that's just as worthy of attention. Away from the hustle and bustle of Nanluoguxiang, Wudaoying is home to a more laid-back hutong lifestyle.
The hutong is 632 meters long and 6 meters wide. Along its two sides are small shops with bourgeois flair, offering the perfect combination of classic and modern life.
How to get there: Get off at Yonghegong Lama Temple station, Lines 2 and 5, Exit A.
