LONDON - China's Xiong Yu, a teacher at Queen's University Belfast, ran the Olympic torch relay on Wednesday welcomed by hundreds of local Chinese.
Xiong, from China's southwestern municipality of Chongqing, ran a total of 700 meters at the Great Victoria Street.
"Normally, every torch bearer ran only 300 meters. I don't know why the organizers let me run 700," said a jubilant Xiong.
Xiong is the only Chinese to run the Olympic torch relay in Northern Ireland.
