From bars to shops, seniors working in Tokyo

According to the latest statistics released by the Japanese government, the population of those over 80 has surpassed 10 million. Those 65 or above are expected to take up 40 percent of the whole population by 2060. Many employers regard the elders as valuable assets given the labor shortage in the country.

This series by photographer Lee Chapman documents many lively nonagenarians running shops, bars or farming the land in Tokyo.
