EUNIC EUROPE Project to present European cultures to Chinese children

A series of events organized for families with children aimed at promoting culture and traditions of the European countries was launched in Beijing Tuesday and will last until June.

The project, called EUNIC EUROPE, will help to have a deeper understanding of the cultural characteristics of the countries through presentations and workshops organized every week in a different cultural institution of the members and can help strengthen the relations between China and the EUNIC member states in cultural field, said the organizer EUNIC Cluster China.

Hans-Dietmar Schweisgut, European Union ambassador to China, said at a news conference that European cultures have different national traditions, histories and backgrounds. But this EUNIC project would represent European identity but doing in a way that also shows the originality and diversity of the cultures.

EUNIC EUROPE Project is a joint program of EUNIC Cluster China member states in order to promote European culture in China, for the ones who matter the most, children. Through interesting, playful presentations the little friends can learn about European arts, artists, traditions, literature, music, dance and even gastronomy.

EUNIC is the network of the European National Institutes for Culture. Formed in 2006, EUNIC is a recognized leader in culture cooperation governed by its 35 members from 28 countries and over 100 clusters based in different locations around the globe.
