The SINO-US Food Wisdom Valley was established in Seattle, USA on Wednesday by China's Yili Group and the US collaborative partners.
Based in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Yili Group is the biggest dairy producer in Asia, reaching out to Europe, America, and Oceania.
According to sources, the SINO-US Food Wisdom Valley will effectively promote a wide range of bilateral cooperation between agri-food enterprises, universities and research institutes.
It will focus on nutrition and health, product development, food safety, agricultural technology, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, ecological environmental protection, enterprise management, and personnel training.
"As an important part of the economic and trade exchanges between China and the United States, the agricultural and food industry has always been highly valued by the leaders of our two countries," Pan Gang, Chairman of the Board and President of Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co Ltd, said at the ceremony.
The US partners to the project include the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, UC Davis, Cornell University, University of Minnesota.
"The potential for China and the United States to work together to drive innovation and deeper collaboration in agriculture and the food industry is significant," Jin Borel, vice-president of Dupont, said at the ceremony.
