BEIJING - Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Beijing on Tuesday.

Speaking positively of the development of China-Kazakhstan relations, Li said China is ready to expand trade and financial cooperation, enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and coordinate and cooperate more closely on regional and international affairs to promote the development of bilateral relations.

Li also called on the two sides to carry out projects the two sides have already agreed on, and to make full use of support from all financing platforms.

During Li's visit to the central Asian nation in December 2014, China and Kazakhstan reached preliminary consensus on a capacity cooperation framework agreement worth 18 billion U.S. dollars, which covers infrastructure, highway and housing construction.

The agreement will also help the two countries cope with the complicated global economic situation, Li said.

Nazarbayev said Kazakhstan will work with China to implement their capacity cooperation plan, promote more diversified bilateral trade, and strengthen communication.

Nazarbayev is in China for a state visit and the V-Day celebrations on Sept. 3. Chinese President Xi Jinping also held talks with him on Monday.
