BEIJING, June 23 (Xinhua) -- China on Tuesday urged the Philippines and Japan to preserve regional peace and stability instead of building tension.

Lu said what the overwhelming majority of Asian countries care most about is development and China hopes the countries concerned can contribute more to peace and stability in the region.
