Death toll rises to 760 in floods in Thailand

BANGKOK - A total of 760 people were confirmed dead and three others are missing in the floods that hit Bangkok, provinces in the upper part of the country and in the South, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department reported on Saturday.
The floods still prevail in six provinces, effecting 4 million people.
The provinces are central provinces of Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Nakhon Pathom, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi and Bangkok.
The department on Thursday reported the death toll at 754.
Earlier, the department declared cold spell disaster zones in northern province of Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Phrae, Uttaradit, Pitsanulok, Nan, Tak, Phayao, Lampang, Lam Phun, northeastern provinces of Sakon Nakhon, Loei, Nong Khai, Nakhon Phanom, Ubon Ratchathani, Mahasarakham, Mukdahan, Kalasin and Buri Ram.
