WASHINGTON - The United States, Canada and Mexico agreed to work together with the International Atomic Energy Agency to convert Mexico's research reactor from the use of highly enriched uranium to low enriched uranium fuel, the White House said on Tuesday.

The conversion of the reactor will enable the elimination of all the remaining highly enriched uranium from Mexico, the White House said.

The announcement was made as leaders from all three countries met at a nuclear security summit in Washington.
