MADRID: A 28-year-old woman became the ninth person who died of A(H1N1) flu in Spain Monday.

This woman had been suffering from other diseases as well, the Spanish Ministry of Health said.

The death toll in Spain has increased to nine since the first victim died of the disease on June 30.

The ministry also said that the incidence of A(H1N1) flu in Spain was 36.04 cases per 100,000 heads of population, a figure more favorable than those of other countries such as the United Kingdom and Belgium, where the figures are almost twice as high.
