W. House doesn't see new stimulus in near future

WASHINGTON: The Obama administration is not planning additional economic stimulus measures in the "near term," the White House said on Thursday.

"If there are ideas that the president and the economic team believe can and should be taken in order to accelerate the recovery ... we will certainly take a look," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters.

"I don't anticipate anything new in the near term."
