SEOUL: Volvo, one of global automakers, will recall 1,020 vehicles in South Korea as engine cooling fans were found defective, the South Korean government said Thursday.

The vehicles subject to the announcement are four Volvo models produced between February 18 and October 10 last year, according to the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs.

The ministry said that the move came as defects in the fan may stop engine cooling systems permanently.

Earlier in May, Volvo recalled 908 vehicles sold in South Korea due to malfunction in windshield wipers.
