The al-Ra'i newspaper will focus on the activity of the government and also cover the news about the Palestinian government in West Bank once Hamas and President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah form a unity government.

The editors and the reporters of the new daily would become officers of the public relations in all the Hamas-run ministries.

The newspaper comes out one time a week as trial and will be issued daily soon.

In addition to al-Ra'i, Hamas movement issued al-Ressala, a weekly newspaper. Last year, the Hamas government licensed another Gaza-based daily called Felesteen which is also a pro-Hamas newspaper.

In West Bank, where is controlled by Fatah, al-Ressala and Felesteen are banned from distribution. In Gaza, Hamas also bans a pro-Fatah daily from distributing.
