Stocks end lower in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil

MEXICO CITY -- Latin America's three major stock markets ended lower on Friday.

Mexico City's IPC stock index dropped by 4.32 percent to 22,989.50 points. A total of 293 million shares were traded with the value of about $600 million dollars.

At the Buenos Aires stock market, the Merval index closed at 1,512.71 points, down 0.53 percent. The trade volume stood at 22.9 million dollars.

In Sao Paulo, Latin America's biggest bourse, the leading Bovespa index closed at 44,517 points, down 3.53 percent. The trade volume was 2.458 billion dollars.
