ISLAMABAD -- Former prime minister of Pakistan and top leader of opposition Pakistan Muslim League-NawazNawaz Sharif will return home with his wife and younger brother on Sunday, a state-run radio station reported.

Sharif and his family members are expected to landed in the eastern city of Lahore, capital of Punjab province on Sunday afternoon, Radio Pakistan quoted Additional Secretary-General of the party, Ch. Jaffar Iqbal as saying.

Local press reported that Sharif would fly back to Pakistan in a special plane of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia from Medina, a western Saudi Arabian city.

Sharif served two terms as prime minister of Pakistan. Sharif was tried and convicted by Anti-Terrorism Courts, which sentenced him to life sentence for hijacking in 2000. The Pakistani government later agreed to convert Sharif's sentence of life in prison to exile in Saudi Arabia.
