BEIJING - Talks aimed at ending North Korea's nuclear program will continue on Friday, a Japanese delegate said.

"It has been effectively decided to extend the talks into Friday," the diplomat said.

No meeting of chief delegates was planned for Thursday, he said. The talks had originally been scheduled to last two days and end on Thursday.
