Two mortar rounds struck a neighborhood in southern Baghdad, killing three civilians just moments after gunmen strafed the area with random fire, police said.

The mortars hit around 11:30 a.m., exploding in a house and another in a popular market in Dora, police said. The neighborhood, which is a mix of Shiite, Sunni Arabs and Christians, has been the site of daily bombings and shootings in recent weeks.

Eleven others were wounded in the mortar attack. No one was injured in the drive-by shootings.
