US looks forward to completing all four high-level dialogues with China 'soon'
The US is looking forward to carrying out the first rounds of all four high-level dialogues on a series of issues with China as soon as possible, according to a US State Department spokesperson.
After the inaugural high-level dialogue on diplomacy and security, which took place in Washington in June, and the high-level dialogue on the economy in July, Beijing and Washington have yet to hold their high-level dialogues on social and cultural issues and the dialogue on law enforcement and cybersecurity.
"I believe we've had two of those four meetings, and we look forward to carrying out the rest just as soon as possible," Heather Nauert, a State Department spokesperson, told a news briefing on Wednesday.
The four dialogues are part of the four-pronged high-level dialogue mechanisms set up by President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump during their meeting at Mar-a-Lago in Florida in April.
