Magnitude 6.8 earthquake hits Indonesia
SYDNEY - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 struck 130 km (80 miles) southeast of Banda Aceh in northern Sumatra, Indonesia, the United States Geological Survey said.
The quake struck at a depth of 33 km (21 miles)at 2203 GMT, the USGS said.
No tsunami warning for Indonesia was immediately issued.
