Shared pasts — WATERLOO Yan Li (left), bilingual writer and director of Confucius Institute in Waterloo (CIW), along with Darrol Bryant, director of Centre for Dialogue and Spirituality in the World’s Religions at Renison, host the 2016 international symposium entitled “Shared Cultural Pasts? A Comparative Conversation Exploring the Cultures of Multi-national Chinese and First Nations Peoples in Canada” from Oct 1 to Oct 2 to in Waterloo. The event co-organized by CIW, Renison University College in University of Waterloo, and Institute of Ethnic Literature, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, gathered scholars and writers from Canada and China to engage in dialogues of comparative multiculturalism.
