Chinese military team dispatched to Mali

BEIJING -- The Chinese military sent a specialist medical team to Mali on Thursday to join Chinese peacekeepers there and help deal with casualties from a Tuesday terrorist attack.
Led by a senior Defense Ministry official, the team will work with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) and the Mali government to ensure the safety of peacekeepers.8 MINUSMA was attacked on Tuesday evening. On Thursday, the Defense Ministry confirmed that First Sergeant Shen Liangliang, 29, was killed in the attack, and another five soldiers were injured, including Lieutenant Liu Liang, two first sergeants, a sergeant and a corporal.
