President Xi's Proposals Bring Hope of Peace to Middle East

The former vice-president of Research Institute of Chinese Modern International Relations, dean of Chinese Research Institute of Arab of Ningxia University Li Shaoxian introduced that the stable Middle East was beneficial to China viewed from this angle, and it conformed to the strategic conception of "One Belt, One Road", therefore China should take every effort to play a part in the Middle East and promote its stability and peace. Otherwise, the boost of "One Belt, One Road"in the Middle East was not a thing only beneficial to China but to both sides.
"There is a statement goes that the Middle East is an ‘Arena for Great Powers', in other words, the country which can play a role here is virtually a great power ." Li pointed out that it was because of the the complexity of situation that the Middle East more urgently desired for political stability and economic development. Taking Egypt as an example, the unceasing turbulence of situation since 2010 led to the urgent demands for development and reconstruction, so the whole Egypt were badly eager for its butt joint with China. "From this perspective, the trend of ‘One Belt, One Road' cannot be halted, and it will be a major national strategy for a considerable long time", he said.
