It is well known that a photo is worth more than 1000 words. Come serve as an ambassador for your hometown, showcasing its unique features in photos matched with simple but striking words.
You may choose to feature artifacts, natural sceneries, arts, culture, food and any other things that you think represent your county and make you feel proud.
Your works will be collected in our visualized map showing the appealing features of different places around the world, especially the countries and regions showing interest in China-proposed Silk and Road Initiative.
Requirements:
1. Dozens of words for a brief introduction on the features of your hometown.
2. Photos are taken by you, which showcase the unique features of your hometown with captions.
3. Deadline: June 22
4. Email your works to readers@chinadaily.com.cn or reply this thread.
Here is an example from one of our readers.
The magnificent architecture of the V and A. London has many wonderful museums and the big ones are usually free to enter. Many are in iconic buildings which make great photos. This includes the British Museum, the National Gallery, the Natural History Museum, the Tate Britain, the Tate Modern among others. I'll leave you to find these charms of London but I will focus on a more in depth look at one other famous Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, (known simply as the V and A), located in South Kensington. |
This is something special to consider if visiting London. Best if combined with a dinner on the boat - I did this with my colleagues on Friday just gone. Some nice pictures. I don't focus on the food but it was, for me, Vegetable soup, roast lamb, veg, roast potatoes, strawberries and cream..and champagne, and coffee. The journey began at Camden Lock as photo below. |
We know that London is famous for its international cuisine. Some people say that is very good because who wants to eat British food! Actually, our food is not that bad. We include Indian, Nepalese and similar as the chefs came here long ago. A survey shows that the most popular dish in Britain eaten outside the home (thus ordered in a restaurant) is Chicken Tikka Masala. |
The Marlborough Arms was my local pub when I both lived and worked in Bloomsbury. The British Pub plays an important role in society. There are two long running TV Soap Operas centered around pubs. |
