Aiming to build a service platform for international property investment, house buying and relocation, the grand launch of www.ehouse411.com (ehouse) took place on May 8 at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Toronto.
Organized by the China Internet Information Center (www.china.com.cn), ehouse was produced in response to China's "Going Out" strategy.
China's overseas investments continue to heat up and at the same time overseas markets are showing greater interest in Chinese buyers. However, there are still many uncertainties when purchasing a property in a foreign country, including language difficulties, inaccurate information, geographical limitations and the credibility gap.
"The website undertakes the responsibility of building up the cooperation bridge between corporation and individual investors in China and foreign countries, providing accurate and abundant information, and is devoted to becoming the most reliable new medium and one-stop integrated service platform," said Li Jiaming, president of china.com.cn/china.org.cn.
According to Li, with the integration of the global economy and internationalization of capital flow, and certain countries introducing attractive investment and immigration policies, more and more Chinese companies and individuals have had the ability and wish for overseas property purchase. Large investment organizations, developers and private investors in China are all eager to invest in overseas real estate markets.
As the first official medium focused on servicing foreign real estate investment, the website provides information related to every aspect of overseas property investment and purchase, including industry news, property for sale, property for lease, businesses for sale, land development, real estate agents and one-stop service sections.
"We hope that with the help of our website, companies and individuals can make their dreams of overseas property investment and purchase come true," said Donna Wang, CEO of ehouse.
Minister Yu Benlin of the embassy of China in Canada, Xue Bing, the Consul General of China, Victor Oh, Federal Senator of Canada, Frank Scarpitti, mayor of the city of Markham, and Jim Diodati, mayor of Niagara Falls, attended the launch ceremony.
The launch event was followed by a summit forum with a discussion on house market policies, trends and features in Canada and China. Paul Miklas, president of Valleymede Building AMA Corporation; Barbara Lawlor, president and CEO of Baker Real Estate Incorporated; Brian McKenna, regional vice-president of Walton Capital Management Inc; Xie Hongling, chief editor of www.house.china.com.cn, and Cynthia Lai, chairman of Global Link Realty Group Inc, participated in the discussion.
