NEW YORK -- Two people were killed Sunday afternoon after a shooting inside a Manhattan Home Depot store, authorities said.
The shooting took place around 2:45 p.m. local time at the Home Depot store on 23rd Street and Six Avenue in lower Manhattan.
Local police confirmed to Xinhua that one man was declared dead at the scene, and another was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The victims' identities have not been released and circumstances of the shooting were unclear.
The CBS reported that the gunman, who was an employee at the store, shot a man, who was a supervisor in the lighting department, before turning the gun on himself.
It quoted witnesses as saying that there was a massive run, with employees telling customers to drop whatever they had in their hands and run out from the back door.
