FUNDRAISING FOR QUAKE VICTIMS

The Chinese Consul General in Toronto, Fang Li (fourth from right), alongside Tian Ronglan (to Fang's right), president of the Yunnan Chamber of Commerce Canada (YCCC), donated C$20,000 to the victims of the 6.5- magnitude earthquake that struck southwestern China's Yunnan province, Markham Councilor Alex Chiu (to Fang's left), donated $7,500 on behalf of the Alex Chiu Golf Tournament. They attended the fund-raising event hosted by the Yunnan Chinese Association of Canada and YCCC on August 10 in Toronto. Nearly $60,000 has been raised in the Chinese community.
