Chile wants northern coastline evacuated after quake

SANTIAGO - Chile on Tuesday requested the "preventive evacuation" of the country's northern coastline, the country's ONEMI emergency office said on its website, following an earthquake near the mining area of Iquique that authorities fear could cause a tsunami.
The South American country is the world's No. 1 copper producer.
