WASHINGTON -- US President Barack Obama's overall job approval rating has slipped 14 percentage points since his re-election victory, according to a new Pew poll released Friday.

The new poll conducted by Pew Research Center found that Obama's job approval rating now stands at 41 percent, while a majority or 53 percent of Americans disapprove his job performance as president. The job approval rating dropped by 14 percentage points since last December.

The gap between disapproval and approval is also the largest in his presidency.

The latest poll also found that Obama gets negative ratings for the way he is handling the economy, health care policy, immigration policy, foreign policy, four of the five issues tested. Terrorism is the only exception when 51 percent of Americans approve of his job performance.

His job approval rating slid across the board when compared with the result of the previous poll conducted this year.

Obama's rating on the economy has been more negative than positive for more than four years but the current rating is the worst during his presidency, the Pew poll showed. Only 31 percent of the respondents approved of his job on that front, while 65 percent disapproved.

The administration has been under intense criticism for the disastrous rollout of the Affordable Care Act, Obama's signature health care overhaul commonly known as Obamacare. Only 37 percent of Americans now approve of Obama's handling of health care policy but 59 percent of Americans disapprove.
