TOKYO - Japan's main opposition party Liberal Democratic Party Secretary General Shigeru Ishiba and his New Komeito party counterpart on Sunday confirmed that the two parties will form a coalition government if they win a majority in Sunday's general election, Japanese media cited lawmakers as saying.

The two parties also agreed during their meeting in Tokyo that after the House of Representatives election, the two parties will hold consultations to coordinate their policies prior to the launch of the coalition, reported the Kyodo News Agency.
