Chinese businesswoman and philanthropist, Chan Laiwa (also known as Chen Lihua), was voted one of the Time 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2012. Chan, together with her husband, Chi Chongrui, attended the Time 100 Gala in New York City on Tuesday evening. This year 54 international names from 37 countries are on the list – the first time they outweighed the American figures. People who are also on the Time 100 list include basketball player Jeremy Lin, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and British singer Adele. [Zhang Yuwei / China Daily] |
