The Chinese American Semiconductor Professional Association held its 2012 High-Tech Job Fair on Tuesday in Santa Clara, California, attracting over 1,000 attendees. CASPA president Jerry Chen said that for some Silicon Valley companies, up to half of new hires are for jobs in China. More senior positions are open this year than in 2011, he added. US companies — Intel, TSMC, AMD, Broadcom, CRM, Inphi, Marvell, Microsoft, Hisilicon, MediaTek, UMC, KLA-Tencor, AUO, AOpen, Intersil, Link-A-Media, NeuroSky, Pantronix and Synaptics — gathered at the fair in search of high-caliber talent in semiconductor design and other fields. They were joined by Chinese companies Lenovo, Nanjing New City Science Park (Jianye district) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corp. [Kelly Zhang/chinadaily.com.cn] |
