BEIJING - China and the United States will hold the fourth round of their Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) from May 3 to 4 in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin said Monday.
Liu made the announcement during a routine press briefing.
Vice Premier Wang Qishan and State Councilor Dai Bingguo, special representatives of President Hu Jintao, will co-chair the dialogue with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner, special representatives of US President Barack Obama.
Liu said both sides will use their meeting to further implement the consensus of both leaders, advance the construction of their bilateral cooperative partnership, deepen communication and coordination on macroeconomic policies and major issues in the world economy, boost economic and trade cooperation and enhance communication on international and regional affairs.
The S&ED was created in 2009 to help both nations manage their bilateral relations and promote communication.
